There is no doubt that a low carb high protein diet is one of the best plans when it comes to weight loss. However, people subjected to that kind of a diet usually make some common mistakes at which they feel that this kind of diet is not working in their favour.
Here are some of the reasons/mistakes that usually ruin the diet.
1) Not Restricting Carbs Enough
Studies found that the average American man’s carb intake of 310 grams a day in half is considered low-carb; however in case of being overweight and seeking fat loss, you need to go a lot lower than 155 grams.
2) Not Eating Enough Calories or Fat
A common scenario for people who tend to go on a low carb diet is ditching their fat intake and that’s considered from the fatal mistakes in this kind of diet because when you receive low carb your body must learn to burn fat instead of glucose. If you don’t adequately increase the fat intake, energy production will diminish and you won’t be able to go on.
3) You Don’t Eat Enough Protein
People always remember to lower their carb intake but mostly they all forget to replace that with eating more food or increase their protein levels. What you need to do is replace that carbs-cut with protein sources like eggs, steak, tuna, and so on.
ONCE AGAIN… don’t forget the healthy fats (e.g., nuts, fish oil).
4) Not Enough Sleep
Sleeping less makes you feel hungry all the time also tired and exhausted to go on and exercise the next day. Moreover studies state that it takes the body a sleep duration of 8 hours for the growth hormone release in which is responsible for fat loss and muscle recovery.
5) You’re having Too Many Sweeteners
though a lot of sweeteners are supposed to be low in calories, they do affect our appetite level. Statistics and studies show that some sweeteners are responsible for making you always crave more sweets than usual; adding to that consumption of artificial sweeteners is related to weight gain in the long term.
6) Not Drinking Much Water
Studies show that most of the time people get confused whether they are hungry or thirsty. However most of the time they only need a sip of water to feel better but they usually go for food. Another reason is that water keeps flushing away all the toxins that resulted from the calories burning process.
7) Not Eating Enough Meals
By enough meals I mean the number of small meals. Researches also show that eating 5 to 6 small meals can boost metabolism significantly which makes you burn all that stubborn calories you have.
